Operating Report

Use these headings for the short report you write after a supervised run. Where this page gives the arm's readings from one day, check them against what your own screens show, and write down yours.

Task Performed

  • The approved production task is IntelliMake's laser engraver run1. The 850's part in it is to move each card from the staging table, S3, on to the engraver's conveyor, S423.

Write which existing program or recording you ran, and what it did.

Materials and Equipment

  • The xArm 850 arm and its control box, with its emergency stop on the box45.
  • Its suction tool, which uses a single suction aperture6.
  • The workpiece: a business card7.
  • A computer with the UFACTORY Studio desktop app, connected by Ethernet to the control box89.

Operating Parameters Observed

The 850's readings in Studio on 2026-10-22, for comparison with yours10:

ParameterReading
Firmware and Studio2.8.2, after that day's update10
State and mode, arm stoppedStop, Position11
MountingFloor11
TCP presetVacuum Gripper: 0.61 kg, tool point 126 mm from the flange12
Live Control speed slider12 %, read on Studio 2.6.0 before the update13
Safety boundary and reduced modeBoundary on but far outside the arm's reach; reduced mode off14
Speed limitsTCP 1000 mm/s; joints 180 °/s14
Collision detectionOn, sensitivity 3; rebound and self-collision detection on15
Controller inputsNone set to a safety function16

Add the readings from your own run: the state and mode while it ran, the speed you used, and anything that changed.

Results Obtained

Write whether the run produced the intended movement, how many cards you moved, and how the run ended.

Problems Encountered

Write each problem: what you saw, what you did first, its cause, and how the arm was recovered. Use the columns of the abnormal-conditions table. If you paused a program, write how you resumed it and what the arm did.

Lessons Learned

Write what you would do differently next time, and what surprised you.

Recommended Improvements to the Procedure

  • Questions a run can answer: which of Live Control's two vacuum buttons, OPEN or CLOSE, grips13, and how a paused program resumes17.

Add any step of this procedure that was unclear, missing or wrong at the arm.

Key to the badges
Confidence: Verified
A manufacturer or IntelliMake document says so, the project owner stated it as the design, or it was observed directly. It does not mean anyone measured it at S2.
Confidence: Inferred
Reasoned from Verified facts. The reasoning is printed with the record.
Confidence: Assumed
Plausible but untested. The record says how it would be checked.
Kind: Gap
Not known. No figure or answer is given in its place.
Kind: Contradiction
Sources disagree. Both sides are shown, and the site does not pick one silently.
Kind: Recommendation
Project advice drawn from the records it cites. Not a fact about the machine and not a confidence class, so the filter never hides it.
Awaiting cell access
Awaiting cell access: could be confirmed or corrected once the physical S2 cell can be observed.
This project's simulation and agent design, not the physical cell
This project's simulation and agent design, not the physical cell.

The approved production task for operating the cell's arms is IntelliMake's: the laser engraver run, with the 3D printer planned (stated 2026-10-23). The cell's layout is still being worked out.

Reasoning: Verified as a statement of the cell's design (S236). It names the task, not a procedure: no record yet gives the engraver run's steps, and the layout is not final.

The xArm 850's emergency stop is the red button on its control box, and nothing else is wired into the box's emergency-stop input (as reported from the lab on 2026-10-22). The cell's stations run from a distributed power system that can cut all power, rather than a shared emergency-stop circuit.

Awaiting cell access: this could be confirmed or corrected once the physical S2 cell can be observed.

Reasoning: Verified for what the dated report from the lab says (S230, S232), as of 2026-10-22, with the photo of the control box. It says where the button is and what is wired; it is not a test that the stop works, which stays unconfirmed until a test is on record. No inspection of the wiring is recorded.
